Sophie Gillman

Sophie joined InterAction as a Program Associate for the Humanitarian Policy team in January 2022.

In this role, she supports U.N.-NGO partnerships with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Food Programme (WFP); partnerships with USAID’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA); and advocacy efforts for quality and flexible humanitarian financing.

After studying International Affairs and French at the University of Colorado Boulder, Sophie discovered her passion for bringing together and improving the experience of the humanitarian community. She brings valuable experience from legislative internships on Capitol Hill, and with UNICEF’s Public Partnerships division. A D.C. native, Sophie enjoys reading, hiking, trying out new restaurants, and believes that museums should be free everywhere.
