What does USAID’s New Digital Strategy Mean for Democracy, Rights, and Governance?

Please join tech4dem, CEPPStech, and D4D for a discussion on the democracy, rights, and governance (DRG) implications of the soon-to-be-released USAID Digital Development Strategy, followed by the first-ever virtual Technology for Democracy (tech4dem) happy hour.

Michelle Parker, Senior Policy Advisor in the Center for Digital Development at USAID, will join us for the first hour to talk us through the Agency's first-ever Digital Development Strategy, and what it means for DRG assistance.

The discussion with Michelle will be followed by a very special edition of the tech4dem happy hour via Zoom. Join colleagues who work on the intersection of technology and democracy for a semi-structured chat on what needs we’re seeing from the broader base of democracy actors and how we can help augment one another’s efforts as we work to meet those needs.

tech4dem is a longstanding happy hour series, hosted by IRI, NDI, IREX, and InterAction, for the technology and democracy assistance community. D4D is the Design 4 Democracy Coalition, which works to make sure tech platforms support democratic goods globally. CEPPS is the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening, and CEPPStech are the CEPPS people that work on tech.

Zoom details and a link to the USAID Digital Development Strategy will be sent out before the event to those who RSVP.
