InterAction Welcomes U.S. $2 Billion Commitment to U.N. Humanitarian Response

InterAction welcomes the recent $2 billion commitment of the United States for international humanitarian response in 17 countries. This is an important and timely action to support crisis-affected communities at a moment of rapidly escalating global needs.

This funding represents an early and meaningful contribution toward the $23 billion Global Humanitarian Appeal, aimed at meeting the most urgent needs of 83 million people. We hope this initial step leads to further funding from the U.S. and other donors.

With most of the resources expected to flow through country-based pooled funds, organizations closest to affected communities will be better positioned to deliver lifesaving assistance. Ensuring that humanitarian actors—especially local and national organizations—have the capacity and support to absorb and deploy these resources is essential.

InterAction remains fully engaged as a constructive partner in promoting accountability and transparency on the implementation of these funds to ensure resources reach those best positioned to respond effectively.

InterAction appreciates U.S. leadership in this funding and support for a prioritized and more localized humanitarian response. We remain committed to advancing effective, needs-driven assistance centered on the communities most affected.
