‘Damaging’ foreign affairs budget cuts funding, fuels partisan politics

"Today marks one year since Hamas launched a terrorist attack that killed 1,200 Israelis and took 250 civilians hostage—101 of which remain in captivity. It also unleashed a conflict that has claimed tens of thousands of innocent lives and caused an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe."

As the conflict intensifies in Lebanon, the devastating toll on civilians and humanitarian workers grows more severe by the day. We are gravely concerned for the safety of those caught in the crossfire and directly affected by the escalating violence.

As world leaders gather in New York for the 79th United Nations General Assembly, and as the threat of a wider regional escalation looms, we renew our demand for an end to the appalling human suffering and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
